Wyrd Games have recently began to release various ranges of base inserts in order to add character to your miniatures or maybe just to single out a leader or specific character. This article will be covering the graveyard ones...
These inserts come in 30mm, 40mm and 50mm together with a base. The 30mm ones come in a batch of five, 40mm as a pair and the 50mm pack contains a single one. Rather than giving each pack it's own article I'm going to cover them all in one feature.

The 30mm bases require some assembly but have at the most only three parts and the location points for each of these is fairly obvious. Despite being double-sided and at first appearance symmetrical the gravestones do appear to have a right and a wrong way around in order to have them sit at the correct angle.

These have a few more parts than the 30mm ones including some railing pieces. There are very small indentations around the base inserts edges that align with certain of the rails so everything aligns correctly though I did still have one end that didn't want to align with the wall. Fortunately as these are meant to represent a dilapidated graveyard I hardly think it matters much...I'll carefully bend it into place at some point in the future if it bothers me...

This is a fairly straight-forward build. Be careful not to damage the birds legs which are part of the top of the oval wall section as you need these to attach the bird to.
Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
I purchase my miniatures from Leodis Games (Link Below) and can highly recommend them.
Should you ever choose to purchase something based on one of my features or reviews then it would be nice if you could let the company know where the inspiration came from...who knows...they might be grateful to the poor unappreciated blogger who sent you their way...if however I've put you off a product...well...you can keep that info to yourself...
Did you notice the door leads to nowhere?
ReplyDeleteIt's not safe to leap to conclusions like that in Malifaux, lol ;-) anything could be behind that door...wall or not...
